SOLD Large and beautiful Limoges-style M Z Austria 1884 - 1909 double-headed royal eagle marked teapot, very Belle Epoque in style and makes me think of the days of Empress Elisabeth and the Austrian Royal court! Brilliant applied gold and a delicate theme of soft pinky-lilac with garlands of tiny blue forget-me-nots overlaid with delicate gold filigree tracery. Excellent condition! Please check my other listings for more antique French and Austrian china, including lots of antique Limoges!
Please be sure to read this description completely so that you are aware of and understand all elements, issues and policies before purchasing, thank you! Props and accessories used in the photos are NOT included in this sale, this is for the teapot ONLY. I only ship to buyers who are located in the selected countries listed in the shipping menu, do NOT try to circumvent this by using a third-party shipping service because I will cancel the order.
Measurements of this breathtakingly beautiful large teapot:
Almost 8" tall to the top of the lid loop, by 9" across from tip of spout to edge of handle. Substantial and weighty.
No cracks, rubs or crazing inside or out, decorations are all intact and beautifully colored, no wear to the gold. There are two tiny "chunks" which appear to have been taken off the inside bottom base area on two of the small scalloped feet (see photo), but I have been told by a pottery expert that this was likely to have been done while the piece was in the process of being made, probably scraped off by the maker when overglaze pooled too much at the inside base. These do not look like nor do they have the characteristics of chips, but please look carefully at the photo and use your own judgement.
Teapot is marked on the bottom M Z Austria with a royal double headed eagle, which is the mark that was used by this firm between 1884 and 1909.
This beauty, as with all my pieces, will be exceptionally well wrapped and packaged in the best shipping materials and sturdy boxing---through years of purchasing fine china I know how important it is to package things carefully. Please note that if there is breakage caused in shipping, refunds WILL be given when buyer provides me with photographs of the damage immediately upon receipt of the damaged goods----not several days, or weeks, or months after receipt----since these are vintage items there will be no refunds for other reasons, as I take great care to describe items/issues meticulously and thoroughly; and because they are VINTAGE items with the inherent age qualities of vintage items, I do not guarantee or claim that they are new and as-flawless-as new. I make every effort to scrutinize each piece very carefully, and will always note any flaw or issue within the description.
If purchasing more than one item from my vintage china section, I will combine shipping wherever possible/feasible and refund any excess postage once I've packaged all of your items, if there is an excess (Please note that some items may be too large or numerous to safely combine together with others in one package)
I've lovingly acquired and curated vintage china pieces for years now and have carefully searched for matching pieces in the same patterns as well as ones that harmonize beautifully with each other to create a charming ambience for a tea table, celebration, or just to display and enjoy.....vintage china sets such a wonderfully nostalgic mood as well as being delightful to collect... For the first time I am now sharing them in my shop along with my own handmade artworks and one of a kind designer original creations---stay tuned for many, many more exquisite pieces!
