SOLD BREATHTAKINGLY gorgeous genuine antique c. 1910's German bisque porcelain half doll/"pincushion" doll which I've costumed in an exquisitely made all-silk, antique laces and trims, marvelously detailed 18th century gown a la Madame de Pompadour! This is quite a LARGE size antique half doll: 12-13"--and I've used some of my most sumptuous antique and vintage materials in creating her costume. Her original bisque beautifully sculpted arms are moveable/poseable in different positions and she has a gorgeous silk fiber wig. This listing is for the doll only, photo props and background items are NOT included.

As well as my other creative endeavors, I've been an antique doll collector and professional restorer for many years---am now expanding my doll studio and will be sharing many more beautifully costumed and rejuvenated antique beauties with you in future! I also love antique and vintage clothing and have collected it for years, having a longtime design career including doing costume & restoration work for major movie studios and museums....Am now translating that love to my own creations and using all the fine extraordinary antique and vintage materials, laces, trims, beads etc that I've collected for more than 30 years in these wonderful pieces....along with the finest of hand sewing and one of a kind details.
This breathtaking beauty's origin began as an antique German bisque (probably Heubach or other German bisque doll maker c. 1910's-20s--see last pics for markings on the back) porcelain half-doll or "pincushion doll"....in excellent condition and has no cracks, chips or wear---I don't think she was ever used or attached to a body previously. She has her original beautiful bisque arms, one is slightly lighter in color than the other but both are in equally fine shape; I put these on a sturdy wire armature to be poseable and firmly attached to the body. I created a sturdy bell-shaped foundation base for her of ivory silk, shaped, stuffed and substantially weighted inside so that she isn't top heavy and doesn't fall over. Over this I created her fully handsewn, magnificent costume of an overdress of vintage shimmering muted aqua pure silk woven in a tiny diamond pattern, an ivory silk petticoat and a shot silk peach taffeta underskirt overlaid with antique laces and a flounce of delicate pleated, ruffled peach silk. The aqua overdress features TONS of pure silk rococo ribbonwork trims and handmade silk rose clusters layered over very fine, delicate antique lace appliqued over some of the peach shot silk taffeta; as well as silk trim and more of the tiny French silk rococo ribbon garland along the entire inner edge of the overgown---please look closely at the pics to see all the fantastic detail! These trims are repeated in the fitted bodice which has a stomacher of lace over taffeta, a silk satin bow, and more of the rococo ribbonwork, with sleeves ending in three rows of antique lace and ruffled peach silk sleeves. Her wig is pale blonde silk fiber "mohair", with delicate tiny waves/curls and a braided chignon in the back, and is decorated with silk ribbonwork flowers. SO very Madame de Pompadour/Marie Antoinette in feeling and evocative of the Rococo era's delicate shades and textures.....she would be exquisite displayed anywhere! (PLEASE NOTE the photo props/furnishings etc in the pictures are NOT included in this listing and are not for sale)
Height approx. 12-13" and is substantially weighted so she is approx. 3-4 lbs, because of the weight and value she can only be shipped tracked Priority Mail........Be sure you check out my full photo album of this gorgeous doll on my Facebook page or my savannahparker.com website as I'll be posting about 16 photos total there....This exquisite antique doll is a true heirloom and her costume will amaze you with its intricate details!
